2008 Toy Run Information
The 17th Annual Haywood County Motorcycle Parade and Toy Run will be held on
Saturday, November 15, 2008
The starting point for this year's Run will be at Pisgah High School in Canton, NC for the second year in a row. We will be terminating for the final time at Wheels Through Time Museum in Maggie. Museum Curator, Dale Walksler, has invited us back for one of his final events before the Museum packs up and ends out of Maggie.
Registration will begin at 10:00 a.m. and end at 11:45 a.m. with the parade beginning to move at High Noon. Upon arrival, registered participants will again be treated to the fine cooking of Chef Dicky King and his outstanding crew of mad meat cookers (while supplies last!). Music will again be provided by Keith Howell and we'll have door prizes and the big raffle bike from Dale! Fees are still $10.00 per person per bike or a new toy per person per bike.
UPDATE AS OF 07:45 HOURS NOVEMBER 15TH......
Despite the current rain, plans for the parade and toy run continue at this hour. According to the latest radar, the rain may be ending mid-morning with only slight showers noted although temperatures are already beginning to drop. Individuals not wanting to ride on two wheel may come directly to the Wheels Through Time Museum in Maggie and register on-site. Chef Dicky and his crew have prepared 350 lbs of barbecue beginning yesterday (November 14th). If at all possible, we will continue with the parade portion at High Noon beginning at Pisgah High School.
